The Garden and Urban Agriculture Festival

The Garden and Urban Agriculture Festival is back in Paris and its surroundings for a 23rd edition. Workshops, educational games, shows and concerts will all take place on September 14 and 15.

More than 400 free events are being held in the green spaces of Paris and its nearby municipalities. Nature lovers big and small are invited to explore woods and hidden gardens – both public and private – and meet those who are helping the environment.

The "green" weekend also promotes urban agriculture and vegetable planting. More than 80 shared gardens are open to the public, with a wide array of fun workshops, tastings, demonstrations, guided tours, and walks. Horticulturists, gardeners and enthusiastic amateurs will be on hand to raise awareness of biodiversity, wildlife and urban agriculture.

Finally, the Garden Festival Village at the Jardins d’Éole (in the 18th arrondissement of Paris) will teach visitors gardening techniques adapted to the city life: from planting a tree to cultivating a small vegetable patch or even tending a planter on a balcony.

Resources and advice can also be found at . Created by the City of Paris, this collaborative space is open to anyone who wants to develop a nature-based project in the city.
